Cape Greco

If you want a little romance, then just a few minutes drive from the city center is a picturesque place - Cape Greco.

The cheerful and actively developing resort of Ayia Napa, which every year hospitably welcomes more and more vacationers, including from our country, boasts not only a developed infrastructure of beach recreation, excellent hotels and restaurants, but also numerous evening discos, clubs and dance bars ...

If you want a little romance, then just a few minutes drive from the city center is a picturesque place - Cape Greco. It is believed that Cape Greco is even more popular with vacationers than the famous Aphrodite's Bay, where, according to legend, the goddess of love was born, who has been worshiped in Cyprus for centuries. Every day, in the late afternoon, when the sun is no longer so fierce in its desire to incinerate the earth, young couples, lovers of picturesque nature and stunning views of the sea, come here to Cape Greco. And during the day, the cape becomes a haven for divers. The headland also has viewing platforms, picnic areas and bike paths. Only that part of the cape where the equipment of the British military base is located is inaccessible for walks. But this should not at all confuse those who are here for the first time - the closed zone is located at the farthest end of Greco.

There are legends around Cape Greco. One of them says that an unprecedented monster lives in its transparent waters. Someone draws analogies with the ancient Greek Scylla, which is described by Homer. Recall that this is a monster representing a female dog who terrorized ships passing near the island. The current monster clearly lives in the waters of the cape peacefully and does not bother anyone. But, as is often the case with places like Cape Greco, which are popular with many people, they quickly become overgrown with legends and myths.

Cape Greco is famous for its caves, the entrance to which is located at the western end of the cape. The caves are literally carved out of stone by nature itself in such a way that it is even difficult to believe that they are not made by hands. The Bridge of Lovers is located next to them - this is how the residents call the sheer rock hanging above the water like a bridge.

You can also get to the cape from Protaras, so this place, with crystal waters and beautiful nature, is always full of vacationers.
